Holiday Madagascar

If you are looking for something completely different, then look no further than a holiday Madagascar. A holiday to Madagascar brings you really close to a wildlife extravaganza of a different kind! Enormous butterflies, moths, amazing lemurs (including the Indri Indri), the largest of them all – with a beautiful, haunting cry. Then you have stunning coastlines with chic, Robinson Crusoe retreats where one has a private island to go snorkelling, or perhaps a Relais et Chateaux where one has five beaches to oneself, fantastic birdlife, sifakas etc. Then you have the tsingys – extraordinary limestone creations and the red tsingys of Montagne d’Ambre should be seen. There is a lovely guest lodge to stay at closeby. Then of course, if you would like some private sailing, there is a catamaran which is the best way to explore the Indian ocean, complete with your private skipper, chef and guide. Go fishing too, which is superb and you have an expert fisherman to guide you. In the south, the avenue of baobabs and incredible walking – there is so much on offer on this island! With over 23 years of arranging bespoke safaris and a dedicated team of specialists from Africa, we have the finest array of extraordinary holidays to Madagascar for you!

Madagascar Luxury

Madagascar Luxury has a character unique to itself.  There are some very beautiful camps and lodges in existence these days and it is now possible to explore this amazing island, the world’s fourth largest – in extreme comfort!

In terms of luxury and also in terms of experience, our favourites must lie north of the island, around Nosy Be – where there are a couple of really beautiful lodges. The first is a Relais et chateaux, called Anjajavy – where one can can be as active or as inactive as one wishes and with five private beaches, one is spoilt for choice! There is canoeing here as well as seeing sifakas and tsingys – so much of what Madagascar is famous for, lies right within your reach without having to do too much travelling!

Then there is Nosy Komba which occupies a lovely island – this is a much more of a local style lodge with inimitable style and taste and amazing food. There are also black lemurs here and great snorkelling and diving. This is more of a boutique hotel rather than a resort, such as Anjajavy above.

Manafiafy is our other great choice -  one of the best lodges we have ever been to and somewhere you can escape to for peace and quiet. Manafiafy has so many positives! It’s remote; it’s unspoilt; the setting is idyllic, the food is superb! You have a private beach; there’s wildlife – lemurs, chameleons etc; and adventure- whale watching, walking, swimming, fishing and surfing –  and this is for families and honeymooners alike.   Manafiafy  is set in a bay on the coast.
