To me, the ultimate country to go on safari, especially if travelling as a family is Kenya. This is so important as whilst the obvious reason that most people travel on safari is to see wild animals – in great abundance preferably – one cannot ignore the vital fact that culture is so much a part of this beautiful and varied country.

The Masai Mara is one of the richest wildlife areas in Africa, with concentrations of game not seen elsewhere outside of the Serengeti/Masai Mara ecosystem. Especially at the time of the wildebeest migration. Meru is another amazing park which offers great diversity yet again of different wildlife. Then you have camel safaris, horse riding safaris, walking safaris – quad biking, cycling – going out with lion researchers and elephant researchers, to sleeping in tree houses.
