The southwest of Tunisia is home to some extraordinary scenery. The mountains rise high before the Saharan desert, and there are a number of valleys and oases all over the region. With opportunities to walk along the to the springs, and palm trees abundant in the midst of the otherwise barren terrain, the oases are an all too often unvisited part of a Tunisia itinerary.
