Carthage is a name that evokes a once great civilisation, and a proud history. Though the remains today are relatively sparse, the home of the likes of Hannibal still is an exciting one, especially when viewed from the top of the Byrsa Hill, where there is a small but engaging museum. With hints of life in the past provided by the Punic Ports, and the Antonine Baths, as well as its close proximity to today’s capital Tunis, Carthage can prove a fascinating visit.
