Hajar Mountains

About 35 miles in from the coastline lie the Hajar Mountains, the highest mountain range in the region, whose highest peak, Jebel Akhdar, is just shy of 3000m. From the coast they are but a majestic backdrop to cities such as Muscat, while once you arrive they are home to the unexpected delights of pomegranate and apricot trees, and of course spectacular scenery.
