The Citadel in Amman
The Citadel sits atop one of the seven hills around which Amman was built, and offers great views over the city. It is such an important spot that there is evidence of settlement in some form or another here for the past seven thousand years. As well as homing the Citadel, the hill also is the location of the Archaeological Museum, which contains some noteworthy monuments found in and around the area, as well the remains of the Temple of Hercules, built in the second century AD.
