Testimonials

* Home again and slowly getting back into the old routine. The holiday was so enjoyable - lots to chat about. Tikli Bottom is a gem and we were the only guests for our short stay. We loved it there - peaceful and luxurious, and the staff were a delight - especially the cook! At Bagh Van, most of the boys who were there last year were continuing their good work. Amit was always there to take us under his wing - a real treasure, making sure we were being well looked after at every stage of our holiday, Thank you for planning another successful holiday for us and we are thinking of travelling to Africa, so you will receive a call soon. *

* I just have to take a moment to tell you what an absolutely wonderful time we had in India. Your planning was perfection. Our favourites were Siana (you told us that!) and Kanker Palace...both families were wonderful in totally different ways. The people of India welcomed us with open arms and were so charming, warm, friendly and helpful that we felt as though we were indeed royalty ourselves!

There was not a single glitch, not a missed or late plane, train or car, no mishaps. The best food was in the homestays in Siana, Kanker and Kutty's Farm and little out of the way places our driver in Kerala found for us. Great food and shopping in Mumbai, and the Taj was a great choice, so close to everything. Bollywood was delightful, and I'm already getting emails from the screenplay author offering a "better" tour next time. We were happy seeing a new TV serial being shot with some Bollywood stars, and we're trying to figure out a way to get a tape of it here. The writer keeps asking me how I like it.

We did see leopard in Siana though at night and a bit away and I didn't take my good binoculars, but the whole experience there was so very special, as well as with Jolly, Jai and Anu at Kanker. Met John at the airport before we left, and even he was surprised at our prison visit experience!

I may have a group next time I go for everyone is so enraptured from my emails and postcards. India is the best travel experience I've ever had, and I must thank you for that. More later when I can organize the best of my 3,000 photos and share a few of the tribal and shepherd village people. First I have to get prints of all the families I photographed who are waiting for their photos, as I promised to send them all. *

* Just a line to thank you for arranging such a fantastic trip to India for us. It was the experience of a lifetime which we will relive as we sort out our 1000 or so photos! Thank you again.

P.S. We saw 4 tigers! *

* The trip was a huge success, and we saw our Tiger in Chitwan, a long relaxed sighting, sitting in the undergrowth washing his face, quite unperturbed by us, in fact we ran out of time and had to get back before it got too dark. The weather closed in after that including the most spectacular storm I have ever witnessed, dashed out of the tent (4.30 am) and filmed at least 20 minutes worth. It was right overhead, the lightening was crackling as the thunder crashed so loudly that I could not stop myself jumping, suddenly realised I was standing on the metal scraper to get in front of the hurricane light, thought this a little unwise so stood on the coconut matting instead next to it...still stupid!!! And so it went on, lots of adventures, but always in luck. *

* Having arrived back and spent a day in the office catching up, I did just want to drop you a note to thank you and your team for looking after us so well over the past couple of weeks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and everything ran very smoothly during our stay which certainly contributed to our enjoyment. It makes a real difference to know that all the arrangements have been dealt with and that you can enjoy the holiday with the minimum of hassle. As you know, there were a couple of things which could have been better, but as we discussed this should be seen in the overall context of a truly excellent couple of weeks. Ramesh, our driver deserves to be singled out for special mention. He certainly went above & beyond to ensure that all our needs were anticipated and both took us to additional places of interest having asked what we would like to see/do as well as answer our numerous queries on the culture surrounding us! I shall certainly recommend your agency to others who intend to holiday in India. *

* Thanks for organizing the Peacock Nepal Trip - everything was wonderful. I soon realized why we had to go on these dates as GUN was an excellent guide and naturalist, I don't know what we would have done without his assistance at Nepalganj airport or our transfer to Chitwan. Unfortunately we only saw one tiger but that was better than none! All the camps were excellent, especially Karnali Tented Camp - what a position. As you have probably heard from Mary, Arthur and I took microlight flights at Pokhara the view of the mountains was spectacular, you should try it next time you get there. We really must meet up sometime soon when you are in Oxford as I have photos by the hundred if you are interested. Look forward to meeting up. *

* Just to say thank you for the flowers and for arranging such a wonderful holiday for us. It has been a fascinating experience. Everything worked perfectly and I can say that you gave us more than what you promised on the tin! We will definitely return and will be in touch. *
