Private villas and houses in Africa

Perfect for families or groups of friends, we have an array of wonderful private houses and villas in South Africa in Cape Town, Hermanus, Plettenberg Bay, Clanwilliam, the Waterberg Mountains, Madikwe and the Sabi Sands region in the Kruger Park in South Africa. In addition, on the Kenya coast, there are the breathtaking Alfajiri Villas in Diani, luxurious villas in Lamu, cottages on Watamu and Diani and several houses in Laikipia ranging from the sumptuous Laragai, the extraordinary Ol Lentille to the more down to earth Lewa – and of course lovely Loisaba. In addition, we have a number of villas dotted around the countryside, from Lake Naivasha to Meru National Park. Our speciality lies on the coast at Lamu, where we have a large selection of beautiful, stylish villas to rent. There are also some stunning villas in Namibia at Okonjima, Wolwedans in the Namib desert and Etosha and there is a fabulous villa in the Selous in southern Tanzania too. This comes complete with your own guide and private vehicle, chef and staff.

We can also offer private houses in the Waterberg Region in South Africa, such as at Ants Nest and Jembisa as well as Pitse for those wanting to see more game. Royal Madikwe is one of the most beautiful lodges in Madikwe and the game viewing and guiding is superb. Elsewhere, as suggestions, Phinda in KwaZulu Natal has Phinda Zuka Lodge (just four cottages) and Phinda Getty House. Fairview is a Cape Dutch House suitable for two families in Plettenberg Bay and we have an extraordinary villa in Llandudnno in Cape Town, overlooking the ocean. Ntwala Island Lodge, in Namibia has just four stilted suites, each with private plunge pools.

Zambia has the perfect circuit for those wanting to travel in a large party, or celebrating an occasion. We can offer private houses in the south Luangwa Valley; for instance Luangwa House in the Chindeni Hills or Robin Pope’s House at Nkwali, and there is Chongwe River House on the lower Zambezi. At Livingstone (the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls) our favourite is Tangala House, featured in House and Garden’s Interiors. Tangala comes complete with private guide, chef and staff to include babysitting. There is a swimming pool and, for those that must, even television!
