Uganda Safari
A Uganda Safari is a safari of a different kind. A safari of a different era almost- Africa fifty years ago. One where old fashioned values, accommodation and courtesy all come into play. This is a country not to be rushed. From the impressive, dominating Ruwenzori Mountains, to the gentle park of Queen Elizabeth, to the awe inspiring, game filled, tourist void Kidepo National Park, to the gorgeous islands on Lake Victoria and of course, Bwindi – with its fantastic walking safaris but of course, most notable for its gorillas.
The people of Uganda are friendly, welcoming, hospitable and educated. The scenery is nothing short of breathtaking and the walking, like nowhere else in Africa. Whether walking through the forests with laughing African children running alongside you, waving and calling out, or on the outskirts of Bwindi, this is a country to be savoured. The habituated chimps are a sight to behold and of course, to become a keeper for the day at the Jane Goodall institute at Ngamba – is a privilege like no other.
The five major lakes are simply beautiful, filled with exquisite birdlife and islands where one can stay.
Yes, distances are great and the roads are somewhat to be desired – but it still feels like frontier Africa – unlike the glitzy makeover that is so prevalent in other parts of Africa. So go now, whilst the gorillas are still there and before it changes and becomes westernised! We can take you off the beaten track, with glorious walks and extraordinary wildlife and with over 22 years experience and a team of specialists from Africa, we can create the safari of your dreams!
