There is nothing quite like an African Safari in Tanzania. Tanzania offers the most concentrated wildlife in Africa – more so than even Kenya. You have the great wildebeest migration which migrates in search of water and fresh grass, with a huge amount of predators following them in their wake. This occurs in the Serengeti.

There is always wonderful wildlife in Tarangire and there are other parks which rate amongst our favourites, in southern Tanzania. These are Ruaha, Selous and Katavi. One can either stay at a luxury tented camp or lodge, or have a private mobile tented camp erected with a private guide and vehicle to allow complete flexibility. Tanzania still offfers a more ‘raw’ and genuine African experience, with the perfect combination of the most amazing wildlife, with tremendous culture as well as awe inspiring scenery. One can also do walking safaris in Tanzania – for a day to several days, fly camping en route, but no hardships are borne. Comfortable bedrolls, wonderful food cooked over an open fire for you – and having a park practically to yourself, is a wonderful thing!

One normally thinks of Africa when talking about going on safari, but in fact,  a Madagascar Safari is something very special too – simply different!

Here, one is looking for lemurs (over 70 different species including sifakas), fossas (a cat- like, carnivorous animal) and then we start looking at the smaller species, such as a multitude of chameleons, brightly coloured frogs, moths and butterflies and of course, amazing birdlife. It is like stepping into a biology lesson, with wall to wall interest!

What South Africa offers is a very real, child friendly experience – either in game rich regions such as the Sabi Sands where they even have the opportunity to become a junior game ranger, or even simply stay at a lodge in one of the most game rich regions in the Kruger which offers a special children’s programme – or – if your children are very young – then you might want to select a non malarial region in South Africa. We have a wonderful selection of non malarial lodges which are wonderful for children – and again, we have worked together with the lodges to create special children’s ranger programmes – some give them rucksacks and they learn to identify tracks and trails, as well as learning about the local mythology and the medicinal properties of plants and trees.
