Day One – Karen – Nairobi
You will be met at Nairobi’s International Airport, assisted with both customs and immigration and driven the 40 minutes or so the green leafy suburbs of Karen and to Giraffe Manor. This is a fabulous colonial style house with just 6 rooms in total – there is nowhere else in the world where you can feed a Rothschild giraffe from your bedroom window. This is a magical experience especially for children and a wonderful way to start a safari!

Day Two – Laikipia Plateau
This morning you will be driven to Wilson Airfield in time for your light aircraft flight northwards to the Laikipia Plateau. This flight takes just over an hour and provides you with the most spectacular views of this wild and untouched land. You will be met on arrival by a member of the Sosian team and driven to this most wonderful lodge. Days will be spent traversing the bush either in a 4 x 4, by foot, by horseback or by camel! Activities include archery, clay pigeon shooting and night game drives or even for the more adventurous you may want to fly camp for the night.

Day Five – Northern Frontier District
This morning a member of the Karisia Team will collect your from Sosian and drive you northwards towards their private concession of Tumaren where the camels, your team of staff and camp will be waiting. The Karisia team are supported by a wonderful staff of Maasai, Samburu, and Turkana who are all local to the areas. Their collective knowledge of plant life, animal life and culture is enough to sustain a lifetime of study. Unlike a vehicle-based safari, a walking safari allows the traveller to enjoy a more intimate insight into Kenya’s animals and its people. The next three days are spent making your way along the Ewaso Nyiro River; camp is sent ahead in the morning and is re-erected for your afternoon arrival. Each safari is tailor made to suit the group and you are able to walk for as long as you and the children feel comfortable. Likewise, should some of you feel that you have had enough walking; you can always resort to riding on the camels! There is a plethora of activities available on route such as mountain biking, swimming in rock pools and rock climbing. Night game drives are also available!

Day Eight – Masai Mara
This morning you will be driven to Nanyuki Airstrip in time to board your light aircraft flight southwards to the beautiful and famed Masai Mara. The flight takes just over an hour and provides fabulous views of the rift valley lakes at well as Mt Kenya and Mt Longonot. On arrival into the Mara you will be met and driven to your camp. The Masai Mara is one of the most famous game viewing areas I the world and rightly so! Fantastic wildlife can be seen throughout the year and plays host to the spectacle that is the great wildebeest migration. Days will be spent traversing the Mara North Conservancy in an open sided 4 x 4 allowing optimum visibility for the big game and those all important cats!

Day Eleven
After a leisurely start this morning you will be driven back to Ngerende airstrip for your light aircraft flight firstly back to Nairobi and onto the Lamu Archipelago on the northern Kenyan coast. You will be met at Lamu airport by your private speedboat and captain and transferred the 20 minutes or so to Kizingoni Beach. This is the most stunning collection of houses that allows you utmost flexibility, in a remote and exclusive location. Spend your days relaxing by your own private pool, snorkelling, swimming with dolphins, wake boarding or maybe exploring the ancient and fascinating town of Lamu; the options of truly endless. The food here is simply sublime and the staff charming; this couldn’t make a better or more fitting end to what will be the safari of a lifetime!
Seven nights Kizingoni Beach Fully Inclusive Basis
Day Eighteen
Late this afternoon you be transferred by speedboat back to Manda Island and Lamu airport in time for your light aircraft flight to Nairobi. You will be met at Wilson airfield on arrival and driven to one of the many fabulous restaurants in the vicinity for some dinner. After dinner you will be driven the 40 minutes or so back to Nairobi’s International Airport in time for your flight back to London Heathrow.
